"We take care of the future best by taking care of the present now". Jon Kabat-Zinn
Being mindful means being fully present in what you are doing, saying and feeling at that specific moment in your life. It means paying attention with purpose, being aware of a particular moment in time: the present.
Looks easy? Try to relax and focus for a few seconds.... your attention is constantly being pulled away by the ping of notifications and thoughts running constantly in and out... We call it multitasking... Real name should actually be stress and anxiety.
Mindfulness practices can quiet the distractions of the mind and help you to connect quickly with your quieter place. Although it originated in the Buddhist tradition, Jon Kabat-Zinn established mindfulness-based stress reduction in the 1970s to help patients suffering from stress pain. It includes meditation and yoga postures.
The practice of mindfulness besides its stress-relieving benefits, can make you more productive and healthy. My goal as a coach, is to empower you with tools and practices that you can do anywhere, under any circumstance: during a meeting, before an important presentation, riding the bus or driving your children to school.
